Bayer CropScience recognized for winter wheat program contributions

Bayer CropScience recognized for contributions to DU's Winter Cereals Program. Bayer CropScience was recognized recently for outstanding contributions to Ducks Unlimited’s Winter Cereals Program. At DU’s headquarters in Memphis, DU Executive Vice President Don Young presented Bayer CropScience CEO William Buckner with a plaque in recognition of the company’s total donations of $300,000 to the Winter Cereals Program.

The primary purpose of the Winter Cereals Program is to enhance the nesting success of ducks and other ground nesting birds in cropland by increasing the number of producers who incorporate winter cereals in their crop rotation. To do so, the winter cereal program utilizes research and demonstration plots, education, agronomy technical assistance and incentives to encourage producers to include a winter cereal in their crop rotation.

Bayer CropScience fungicides and seed treatments are given to producers as an incentive for those who include winter cereals in their crop rotation.
